This picture was taken in 2009 at Lake Bunyoni in Uganda, Africa. My wife, Clare, and I were walking along a path when some children from a nearby village greeted us and decided to walk with us. One child, whose name was Promise, took me by my hand and led me.
Lake Bunyoni, also known as ‘place of many little birds’ is a stunningly beautiful area that is surrounded by terraced hills that seem to stand guard over the water below them. Lake Bunyoni has regular market days during which locals travel long distances, including by canoes, to sell their produce near the water. When we visited the area, we also saw children travelling to and from school by watercraft.
How do you get to school each day? Car? Bus? Boat? Bike? Feet? Can you tell a story about your journeys into the classroom? Or perhaps you could tell a story about a beautiful place?
Lake Bunyoni, Uganda.
