Distractions

Hello again. It has been a while since I was wrote to you, hasn’t it? I’m so sorry for my absence but I have been very, very busy with distractions.

Yes, I know, ‘distractions’ is a big word for a little dog, but I think I know what it means.

It means ‘leaves on the street’ or maybe it means ‘ball on the end of a stringy thingy.’ Oh, I don’t know. Maybe I don’t know what it means, but it’s a word that Big Boss, Bald Boss, and Boy Boss use a lot when I take them out walking, or when I play with them in the backyard. For example, when we are out walking, I will see the wind blow a leaf on the other side of the street, and well, what is a dog expected to do? Of course, a dog hurries over to the leaf to see if the leaf is really a leaf. Which it nearly always is. But when this dog (By that I mean, me) does that to the leaf, Big Boss or Bald Boss or Boy Boss nearly always say: “Roger loves his distractions, doesn’t he?”

Yes, I do!

The ball on the stringy thingy gives me the same feeling. Whenever I see it, I must grab the ball as soon as I can. Look, there it is. I must get it, I must get it, I must get it…Oh yeh, I got it! And it feeeeels soooo gooood!

Now, that I think about it, ‘distractions’ might mean cardboard boxes too. Gee, when I see one of those things, I must jump on it and chew it to bits. What fun! Brilliant!

So, there you go. That’s why I haven’t been in touch with you. I have been concentrating very hard on distractions. Imagine if we didn’t have them…My goodness what would we do with ourselves?

I’m tired.

I need a sleep.

Wags from afar,

Roger.
