Have fun with captions

A ‘caption’ is a title or a very brief description that can help tell the story of a picture. Captions can be funny, serious, poignant, political and more. In this exercise, we encourage you to be funny (although you don’t have to be…the choice is yours!). See if you can make up captions for any or all of the pictures below. Share ideas with your classmates and teachers. Here are some examples for the above picture:

‘Locals turn away from annual balloon festival.’

‘Politician forgets to take a breath and explodes while talking.’

‘Seriously, this thing weighs a tonne!  And do you know how embarrassing it is to get stuck in your own nest!’

Right, it’s your turn now. Have fun!
